Oh Allah, keep them steadfast on the path of Eman
And grant them the highest ranks in Paradise
Just as you gifted them the guidance of the Qur’an
Guided…. through the Qur’an
‘Guided through the Qur’an’
‘Living it is the sweetness of life’
‘Longing to the Lord, coming to Him’
‘To Him I submit my soul’
‘It is the light of the body and the heart’
‘I declare submission to Allah’
‘His verses are becoming lightening candles’
‘And the brightness overflows from my heart’
‘It is the light of the body and the heart’
‘I declare submission to Allah’
‘His verses are becoming lightening candles’
‘And the brightness overflows from my heart’
He was an orphan
And Allah nurtured him,
He was lost and Allah guided him
I read these verses to him..
“Did He not find you an orphan and give [you] refuge?”
“And He found you lost and guided [you],”
He was moved, then said..
This verse!
applies on me!
He is Adam
from Liverpool.
At the beginning, I want to know..
How was your childhood, brother Adam?
From the start, How was it?
I was raised in an English house.
I was growing up the English way…100%
The reason for that,
because my parents got separated..
And my father, who was from Yemen..
He didn’t know that I was born
When I was one year old,
My mother got married again,
At that time she wasn’t Muslim
She married an English man who was Christian too
So, I was raised as an English Christian
The same way as all the people here..
Adam’s father didn’t know any thing about his son,
till he was 16 years old
At that time, his mother introduced him to his real father
And to his big family in Yemen!
She called me on phone,
She said, your son has graduated from high school
And I want you to take your son now..
It wasn’t from me…
But Allah SWT wanted every thing that way!
So, I said, OK. and I took him with me…
We sat together for an hour or so..
Then, we made plans for next weekend..
We met next week..
then on the third time I invited him to my place..
To visit me and to have lunch together at my home..
He came..
Then every weekend,
On Saturdays and Sundays, after he finishes his homework
he comes to my house..to spend the weekend with me
My main goal was to introduce him to Islam
It is the only benefit for me too, is to put him on Islam
Alhamdulillah, our Lord..He guided him to Islam.
‘By the merciful guidance of my Lord’
‘The beauty covers the spring of my heart’
‘And turns my feelings and my path green’
‘even how I look, all that is because of the guidance’
The first step that Adam’s father did,
to introduce him to Islam,
was to give his an English translation of the Mus’haf as a gift
And he used to read the Qur’an with him
This is the same copy!!
Exactly, it is the one….yes..
The one that his father gave to him!
And he is keeping it with him till now!
Because it is an important gift which turned his life..
Tell me about that moment.. the first time you opened the translated Qur’an!
After your father gave it to you!
I remember the exact moment!
I opened the English translated copy of the Qur’an
at surat Yusuf, PBUH..
The story of Yusuf PBUH, amazed me..
Because of the similarity between this version of the story
And the version that we were taught at school of the Church, when I was a child!
That was shocking!!
The story of Yusuf PBUH, is a very beautiful story..Subhan’Ahhah
And strangely, in the story..
There is a father who loses his son and have him back after a long time
and by time, I discover more and more about it..
Allah SWT says about this surah,
“We relate to you, [O Muhammad], the best of stories”
So, I started to ask questions!
after reading in the Qur’an
I ask my father.. and I go to the masjid at the prayers time
And ask others..youth..
‘The grace of guidance blessed my heart’
‘It is the start of my joy and of my life’
‘So, I decided to depend on the Entirely Merciful’
‘And followed the footsteps of Taha’
You went to the masjid before you are Muslim!
You listened to the Emam at Taraweeh prayers
What were the verses which attracted you, brother Adam?
At that time, I noticed only one word, which was pronounced by the Emam in a specific way!
I wasn’t understanding Arabic at that time,
He used to say it repeatedly!
I didn’t understand it, but it was hitting me
To the extent that my heart shivers on hearing it!
It was the word of [Al-Haqq]
He repeats it every now and then!
I was wondering
After two or three times, I didn’t ask any one.
But on hearing it more and more, I asked someone, what does this word mean?
He told me that it means, the truth!
How many times we read this word?
The word, [Al-Haqq]
How many times we heard it from the Qur’an?
Did we ever contemplate on it?
Did anyone of us ever thought about how is it pronounced in Tajweed?
Here, Allah SWT emphasizes that the truth is not an easy thing to pass by!
It is heavily evaluated by Allah SWT,
Let’s reflect upon some of the verses
that Allah SWT, said this word in them..
Allah SWT says:
“And the intoxication of death will bring the truth; ”
Allah SWT says:
“That is the True Day; ”
Allah SWT says:
“These are the verses of Allah which We recite to you, [O Muhammad], in truth.”
Then, Adam felt peacefulness with Islam,
And he became positive that it is the truth..
So, he said the shahada at one of the masjids of Sheffield.
It was like a new birth for him!
I sat there, and the Emam asked me to raise my finger… this one…
Then I said: I bear witness there is no deity worthy of worshiping except for Allah
And that Muhammad is the messenger of Allah
And when ever I witness people saying the shahada, here
That memory comes back to me, like I am living it again!
every time!
It is difficult to stop crying…when others becomes Muslims
This is how I feel..
As if there is an actual detectable mercy…light…
…Guidance from Allah SWT!
I pray that Allah keeps him steadfast on Islam.
and his children too.
This Dunya…it is not lasting.
If we were born Muslims, and we heard the Athan after birth in our ears,
Or we embraced Islam later in life,
The most important thing in this Deen is the ending!
The final…
So, there is no difference between those who embraced Islam and those who were born Muslims
If the ending is not good!
‘Oh Allah, keep me adherent on the righteous path’
‘ because what I fear most’
‘ is to have a bad ending tomorrow’
‘Guided through the Qur’an’
‘Living it is the sweetness of life’
‘Longing to the Lord, coming to Him’
‘To Him I submit my soul’
‘Guided through the Qur’an’
‘Living it is the sweetness of life’
‘Longing to the Lord, coming to Him’
‘To Him I submit my soul’
After Adam knew the truth and followed it,
He went on Dawah..people around him..
especially his mother..
her husband..
and his brother from his mother side..who was the first one to enter Islam from his family.
At the beginning, I was very anxious and full of energy
I found the truth…I know it now..
I wanted them to…
accept Islam smoothly…
and fast…as I did!
Subhan’Allah…there is a wisdom here from Allah
I used to talk too much about Islam..
But I didn’t act much!
This way in Dawah, is not effective!
Our mother Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her, said about the messenger of Allah SWT,
‘His character was the Qur’an’
we want to..
read the Qur’an..
Listen to its beauty and live with it..
our behavior..our lifestyle
and the way we treat others..
especially when we realize that we are blessed and they are missing what we have
“Indeed, We have sent it down as an Arabic Qur’an that you might understand.”
We relate to you, [O Muhammad], the best of stories in what We have revealed to you of this Qur’an”
“although you were, before it, among the unaware.
And the Qur’an says: “Indeed, [O Muhammad], you do not guide whom you like,”
“but Allah guides whom He wills.”
I thought too much about that Ayah..
What is the message here?
Finally, I became convinced that Allah is the one who guides
Not me!
I might be a cause,
But Allah is one who guides.
So, I stopped talking to my mother about religion
Except when she asks a question, then I would answer her back.
And I never visit her without a gift.
And I do my best to show her my respect and love
I wasn’t treating her like that before at all
How did she accept Islam?
We were at a camp for new reverts and Muslims too..
There were so many new reverts..
English women..
wearing hijabs
My mother was impressed by these ladies too much..
And as if she asked herself,
Can I be like these English ladies?
My brother was with us he is Muslim for five years now
Alhamdulillah, my mother said the shahada.
To tell the truth… mothers are very dear to every one of us..
we all love them..
Imagine, if this mother was not Muslim…and Non-Muslims are going to go to Hell
It is very difficult to live that!
How can you stand such an idea?
At that moment…truly and without exaggerating my feelings…
I felt as if I am in the Jannat Al-Ferdos!
Life around me was not the same..
seeing that she said the shahada..
She became Muslim..
Glory to Allah…It is a blessing from Allah SWT
I am grateful to Him… and thankful to Him
and ask Him to keep us steadfast on Islam till we die
In’sha’Allah.
Alhamdulillah,
After Adam’s brother and mother entered Islam
His stepfather started to show interest in Islam
Not long after Adam became Muslim…
he went to Yemen.
that journey
had a very huge impact on his belief and on him learning Arabic
and after he came back to Britain,
He started to memorize the Noble Qur’an
Praise to Allah, it is a blessing from Him.
That we have here in Britain…in our city..a qualified sheikh
teaches us Qur’an
The perfect way, this is a grace from Allah SWT
After he came back, he started with me
At that time he was good in Arabic..
S, I started teaching him Qur’an
I read the verse for him
one by one, repeatedly till he learns how to read it… and so on..
till the end of the sura
Indeed, with hardship [will be] ease.
So when you have finished [your duties], then stand up [for worship].
And to your Lord direct [your] longing.
I wish that Adam keeps on memorizing the Qur’an,
he is smart,
and clever,
And understands. ..
To be honest, I expect him to be an Emam in this country
They are the citizens of this land, and they are the best people to serve it
This is the beauty of Islam..
When someone becomes Muslim
He/she is keen to share that truth..
with people around him and members of his/her community
My priority now, the thing I work hard on …
Is to build bridges between Muslims and Non-Muslims
in the British community here.
When we connect with Non-Muslims
We give then the true image of Islam
Even if they didn’t become Muslims
Unconditioned relation, to be Muslims
What we need to do is to inform them, that’s all!
Before the end, I would like to know the wish of our brother Adam!
My wish is for the Dawah,
We have Embrace Foundation,
It is my work with reverts and Non-Muslims
We plan camps, like the one which ended by my mother being Muslim
We want to expand and grow in this work
so as to cover all Britain
In’sha’Allah.
By the will of Allah, Almighty, your wish comes true.
And you get supported from the website nquran.com
on this amazing Dawah idea.
‘I walk on the path of my Qur’an’
‘And see its kind dawn shines’
‘I recite it and memorise it and reflect upon it’
‘I walk on the path of my Qur’an’
‘The spring and the joy of my days’
‘My friend, the one who knows my dreams’
‘The cure for my sorrow and my complains’
‘It heals my bleeding wound’
‘The spring and the joy of my days’
‘My friend, the one who knows my dreams’
‘The cure for my sorrow and my complains’
‘It heals my bleeding wound’
‘Then when I repent and come back’
‘To the path of the words of the Lord of the Bait’
‘I find the grace and the comfort’
‘I was guided through the Qur’an’
‘I was guided through the Qur’an’
