This is a major prophecy in the Bible\u00a0foretelling about a prophet like Moses who shall come from the brothers of Israel.\u00a0God says in the Bible to Moses:<\/p>\n

Deuteronomy 18:18 I will raise them up a prophet\u00a0from among their brethren<\/strong>,\u00a0like unto you <\/strong>;and I will put my words in his mouth<\/strong>, and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

In this verse, God was talking to Moses (Peace be upon him), the word them refers to the Israelites. Now let\u2019s see the words bolded above.<\/p>\n

Ishmaelites are the brothers of Israel<\/h3>\n

\u00a0\u201cFrom among their brothers\u201d:<\/strong>\u00a0This means that the prophet foretold above shall not be from Israel, but from their brothers. This was also proved by what was mentioned in Deuteronomy 34:10<\/p>\n

Deuteronomy 34:10\u00a0And there hath not arisen a prophet since in Israel like unto Moses<\/strong>, whom Jehovah knew face to face,:11 in all the signs and the wonders, which Jehovah sent him to do in the land of Egypt, to Pharaoh, and to all his servants, and to all his land,<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The word \u201cbrethren\u201d is not solely related to the Israelites as some may think, but it can sometimes mean the brothers of Israelites. For example it was mentioned concerning children of Esau, so there is no problem at all if it was mentioned for the Ishmaelites, especially that it\u2019s very clear in the verse below:<\/p>\n

Deuteronomy 2:4\u00a0And command thou the people, saying, Ye are to pass through the border of\u00a0your brethren the children of Esau<\/strong>, that dwell in Seir; and they will be afraid of you: take ye good heed unto yourselves therefore;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

So was there any prophet sent from Esau descendants? No.\u00a0Was there any prophecy concerning blessing of the descendants of Esau? No, and not only that, but also the blessing was taken away from him as mentioned in Genesis 27.\u00a0Was there a prophet who came from the Ishmaelites? Yes, there was Prophet Muhammad. Was there any blessing concerning Ishmael in the Bible? Yes, Ishmael was blessed\u00a0in the Bible.<\/a><\/p>\n

\"Prophet<\/a><\/p>\n

A Comparison between Jesus and Muhammad \ufdfa, who is the prophet like Moses?<\/h3>\n

Then we move to the next part in the verse talking about putting the words of God in his mouth<\/strong>, this is the way of revelation, since Muhammad \ufdfa was illiterate, archangel Gabriel (Peace be upon him ) taught him the verses of Quran in this way, by mouth.<\/p>\n

Now we let\u2019s examine the words (like unto you), and let\u2019s compare between Muhammad and Jesus (Peace be upon them) in this point, resemblance to Moses (Peace be upon him). This shall be shown as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

  1. Muhammad and Moses (Peace be upon them) were born naturally, while Jesus (Peace be upon him) was born miraculously from no father.<\/li>\n
  2. Muhammad and Moses (Peace be upon them) were political leaders, while the Bible tells that Jesus said: \u201cGive\u00a0back to\u00a0Caesar the things that are Caesar\u2019s, and to God the things that are God\u2019s.\u201d So he was not a political leader.<\/li>\n
  3. According to the Christian belief, Jesus (Peace be upon him) is God, while no one believed that Moses or Muhammad (Peace be upon them) were God.<\/li>\n
  4. Muhammad and Moses (Peace be upon them) came with a new law, while Jesus (Peace be upon him) didn\u2019t come to abolish but to fulfill.<\/li>\n
  5. Muhammad and Moses (Peace be upon them) died naturally, while Jesus (Peace be upon him) was raised to heaven.<\/li>\n
  6. Muhammad and Moses (Peace be upon him) married, but Jesus (Peace be upon him) didn\u2019t marry.<\/li>\n
  7. Muhammad and Moses (Peace be upon them) fought their enemies, while Jesus (Peace be upon him) didn\u2019t fight anyone and ordered his followers to turn the other cheek.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    The Christ is not the Prophet<\/h3>\n

    In John 1, an interesting conversation between the Jews and John the Baptist related to this subject was carried out.\u00a0 Let\u2019s see what the Jews said to John the Baptist:<\/p>\n

    John 1:19 And this is the witness of John, when the Jews sent unto him from Jerusalem priests and Levites to ask him, Who art thou? 20 And he confessed, and denied not; and he confessed,\u00a0I am not the Christ.<\/strong>\u00a0 21 And they asked him, What then? Art thou Elijah? And he said, I am not.\u00a0Art thou the prophet?<\/strong>\u00a0And he answered, No.<\/p>\n

    John 1:25\u00a0And they asked him, and said unto him, Why then baptizest thou, if thou art not the Christ, neither Elijah, neither the prophet?<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

    This conversation shows that the Jews knew that the Christ is a person different from the prophet, which seems to be talking about the prophet like Moses as none of the previous prophets were considered to be that prophet. Some might say that since the Jews asked John, this will mean that the Prophet is Israelite, this is not necessary as it may happen that the Jews misinterpret the prophecies, but on the other hand, John the Baptist didn\u2019t deny that the prophet is someone other than the Christ, and since he is not the prophet, he only said no, I am not the prophet, but he didn\u2019t correct their misunderstanding and say that the Christ is the Prophet.<\/p>\n

    A Christian Objection:<\/h4>\n

    Some might say that the verse in Deuteronomy 18:15 says that the Prophet will be from Israel:<\/p>\n

    Deuteronomy 18:15\u00a0Jehovah your God will raise up unto you\u00a0 a prophet from the midst of you , of your brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

    Actually Prophet Muhammad \ufdfa was raised to the Jews among them in Medina after his migration from Mecca, and that\u2019s why this verse and verse 18 reasserts it by saying: \u201cfrom among their brothers\u201d, and since the word \u201ctheir\u201d was referred in this situation to the whole Israel, then it is not talking about another Israelite tribe, but it means the brothers of the Israelites who can be none but the Ishmaelites from where Muhammad \ufdfa was raised.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
